Today we learned about "A Message to Garcia". It was published in March of 1899. It got very very popular through the time. There were forty million copies sold. Due to how popular it was printed in thirty seven languages. It was also made into two movies, one in 1916, and the other in 1936. The phrase "Message To Garcia" was later used as slang in the military. It happened in the middle of the Spanish American War. Garcia was Cuban seeking independence from Spain and Rowan was an army officer. The President was president William McKinley.
